Opened in 1850 by the South Yorkshire Railway, later part of the Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway on the line from Doncaster to Barnsley, this station closed in 1872 when it was replaced by the current Mexborough station. View south west from the road up towards track level. No trace apparently remains. The bridge still carries the railway line from Mexborough to Swinton and Sheffield, the line to Barnsley having long gone.
