Shops and cafés which had been closed for more than three months during the coronavirus pandemic shut-down were allowed to reopen at the beginning of July 2020, and in a quiet way things were beginning to look more normal, with customers sitting and chatting outside the Black Cat and more cycles on the racks than there had been for some time.
