This is the grave of Elihu Yale at St Giles Church, Wrexham. He was the greatest benefactor of Yale University, and his family hailed from Denbighshire. The Verse inscribed on one side of the grave says "Born in America, in Europe bred, In Africa travelled and in Asia wed Where long he lived and thrived in London dead. Much good, some ill, he did, so hope all's even And that his soul thro mercy's gone to Heaven".
