This area of Armley is known locally as "Little Scotland" as all the street names begin with the name of Scottish cities. The building here on the corner of Edinburgh Grove and Paisley Road is shown as Moorfield Laundry on the 1908 map; the crane beam protruding from the upper floor shows that it was used for storage. At one time it was Brooks Dry Cleaners (the name can just be seen on the near side of the ground floor, whitewashed over). The business is presently called Cottage Linen Hire, but essentially still a lundry.
