Rayson Way is on the large council-built Barnwell Estate south of Newmarket Road in the north-eastern quarter of Cambridge. The sewer vent pipe on the left is the usual Victorian cast-iron type, supplied, like many stench pipes in Cambridge, by Ham, Baker & Co Limited, Engineers, of Westminster. It has lost its decorative crown cap.
