A view towards the main entrance. The Alexandra (The Alex, locally) opened in 1985 to replace the Bromsgrove District General Hospital and serves about 200,000 persons locally with over 300 beds. It is also the regional urology centre for Worcestershire and as such serves about 0.5 million people. It remains as a fully functioning general hospital but there is some split of services with Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
