A Friday to Sunday railtour from London to Wick & Thurso with full on-board dining - I think operated by LNER Railtours but stand to be corrected. We had booked sleeping car berths, but they weren't available for some reason, so we had to lie out across the seats in a day car. Here, the train is preparing to head north on Saturday morning. Nearest the camera is our coach, First Open No. M3108, next to a Mk1 restaurant/kitchen car. Note the mailbags piled on the platform - a sight long gone from the railway scene.
