This was the southern end of the branch line from Haltwhistle until 1976 when a new road was completed. The station and track north to Slaggyford are now operated (narrow gauge) by the South Tynedale Railway https://www.south-tynedale-railway.org.uk/ . The station house is Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1325522 .
