Thames Valley Police are having to make £15 million of cuts. This is putting the future of some of their police stations in doubt. In the case of the Carterton one, it is scheduled to be closed and sold, with the officers eventually moving into the new fire station. However this fire station, planned for Monahan Way, has not yet been built. Instead Carterton got its first and temporary fire station in an industrial unit at Clare Terrace. As this only opened in December 2018 the move is probably some time away.
