Another view of the cutting in Image The bridge which took the railway over the Blakeney - Cinderford road was in the centre of the shot, beyond the fencing. The Blue Rock Trail ends here, but the railway continued under the road, past Eastern United Colliery, to Cinderford, the Berry Wiggins works at Whimsey and Northern United Colliery at Churchway. Traffic from Northern United (closed at the end of 1965) and Berry Wiggins (relocated to Lydney in 1967) kept the branch going into the late 1960s, but once they'd gone, that was the end for the railway and the track was removed in 1969, two years after closure.
