Just after passing Eastern United colliery, one of many sources of traffic for the branch, the line passed under the Blakeney - Cinderford road, through a bridge which has long since been removed, and into a deep rocky cutting. Railway-era photos show this cutting bare of vegetation and looking like the surface of the moon. Now the course of the line is a pleasant walk known as the Blue Rock Trail, which was opened in 2000 and leads all the way to the Dean Heritage Centre at Soudley.
