Otterspool loop consisted of a pair of long sidings where freight trains could layover while waiting access to Liverpool Docks at Brunswick. Latterly it was used for the storage of redundant wagons. On this occasion it was visited as part of the Liverpool Suburban Railtour, an enthusiasts' special train.
