A wet visit to the locomotive shed. The B1 class was Thompson's 1942 design of 4-6-0 locomotive for the London and North Eastern Railway for general purpose passenger and freight work. Over 400 were built and it was a very successful type. In the background is the former Corporation power station, which would be closed and demolished within a few years.
