Wreck at Awre

In many places along the Severn, old ships have been "hulked" along the banks in an attempt to slow the process of erosion. The most famous examples can be found at Purton ships' graveyard, near Sharpness, but the practice was widespread. Whether this is a bona fide shipwreck or a deliberate beaching of a life-expired boat, I don't know.
