Triangular information boards around bollards outside Waitrose in Milngavie explain that there is now a higher limit of £45 (instead of £30) using contactless payment at the checkouts. This is a measure introduced during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in order to make it easier to pay for goods without using cash or having to touch key pads, and so reducing the risk of coming in contact with surfaces which might hold the virus. The other notices remind customers to keep 2 metres apart within the store.
