The old barn is shown on the map as being within a wide strip of woodland on the south bank of the River Belah, crossed by Powleyclose bridge, but on the ground, short-grazed grassland extends right to the fence above the short slope down to the river. Neither of the footpaths shown on the map is clear on the ground, either, though anyone wishing to cross the bridge to head for New Hall (visible in the top left of the photo), would scarcely miss their way. On the other hand, those (like us) heading northwest may have to cast around a bit to find the stile leading on.
