At first I thought Abbess Roding was doing homage to Antony Gormley's 100 Image installation. However it turned out they are Image and used for scarecrows. If you examine the lifelike statues in Trafalgar Square and see what London pigeons do to them I don't think these scarecrows will have any function other than to provide convenient perches!
