First Southampton 31821, a Volvo Olympian/Northern Counties new to London General, thunders past Houndwell Park while working a 3A to Townhill Park. In an attempt to address the large number of elderly double deckers in its fleet, First had recently acquired a significant number of secondhand midlife Olympians, hence this former Go Ahead group bus being part of its Southampton fleet. Behind it can be seen three East Lancs Pyoneer bodied Dennis Arrows, similarly aged buses that had come from one of First's London fleets; one of them is still in Capital Citybus red and yellow.
