Built from the outside in. The earliest section is that on the right, built in 1857-58 by the water engineer Thomas Hawksley in an "odd chunky Franco-Jacobethan style". A similar range was built on the left in 1868, but not until 1901-02 did the present middle section materialise, courtesy of Thomas Caink. Now the Pump House Environment Centre. See also Image
