In the foreground is the railway from St Pancras to Sheffield, also Thameslink to Luton. Beyond is one of the many other railways which traverse this area - see Victoria County History for Middlesex, Hendon Communications at http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.asp?compid=26878 . The photo is taken from a pedestrian bridge over the M1 Motorway. This footpath goes under both railways - its grey fences can be seen at the right of the photo beyond the first railway line, see Image for a photo under the railway.
