A detail is shown at Image I wonder if the letters "CAR" refer to the Carews, the family who owned Haccombe House until 1942? (They must indeed, because "EW" appear on the right-hand, southern face - see Image]). The puddle is on Haccombe with Combe footpath 16 and on the John Musgrave Heritage Trail.
