GHS is a suburban City of Edinburgh secondary school just off the Lasswade Road at the junction with Captains Road. This building first opened to pupils in 2003 and replaced a 1950s building. It was created under a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme by Edinburgh Schools Partnership (ESP). The design has a central hall with classroom wings leading off. Gracemount was one of a number of 21st century school buildings in Edinburgh found to be defective. Construction expert Prof John Cole published a damning report into the scandal in 2017.
