Close-up of the sign by the village green in 2000. You can play spot the differences with later photos, euch as Image (2009). (It appears that the ship has been away on a cruise.) The plaques imply this sign was erected to commemorate the Coronation in 1953, and re-erected in August 1987. However, it is actually a reduced-scale replacement for the original sign. The 1953 sign had been erected on the approach to the village but was stolen in the 1980s. It resurfaced in 2012, when it was renovated and erected near the church. See Image
