Now Potclays and supplying clay to the pottery industry. In 1984 the plant was very traditional and similar to that to be seen at Middleport Pottery in 2020. These are a pair of motor driven blungers by William Boulton of Burslem. They would have originally have been driven by the disused steam engine on site. On the extreme right is part of a ball mill (or at least that's what I think it is).
