In 1984 this South Staffordshire Waterworks Company site was in operation with electric pumps in the lower building on the extreme right and filter plant out of sight to the left. The tall engine contains a Cornish beam pump that the company was then preserving in situ. Unfortunately the works later closed and was acquired by a housing development company. The engine house and 1960s pump house survive and are listed but were not being looked after. The Lichfield Waterworks Trust now has access to the building and is restoring the engine while negotiating a lease from the developers.
