The passenger service on the branch ceased in December 1964 under the Beeching cuts although the line remained open for freight traffic to the Associated Octel plant until 1993. The Birmingham RC&W diesel multiple units as seen here were typical rolling stock on the line at the time. The station has been completely obliterated by the rebuilding of the A5025.
