The arch was taken from the house in Cross Shore Street in Greenock where William Quarrier was born. It was erected here in 1929 to mark the centenary of his birth. It also remembers the Quarriers orphans who died during WWI. The lower tablet remembers the Quarriers orphans who died during WWII. See also Image
