Burn airfield had first the Royal Canadian Air Force 431 Squadron which was formed at Burn in 1942, they flew Wellington bombers. When 431 left, RAF 578 squadron arrived with Halifax bombers. While trying to get some dates for the above two squadrons from the internet there are so many conflicting dates that I would not believe or use any. Can of worms
