Arriving from Forsyth Gardens onto Slades Farm open space, the large sports field has just come into view from the dog's eye level, so he is full of excitement and the lead is at full stretch. The coronavirus pandemic means that we are allowed one period of exercise a day (the dog gets two as he lives with two people!) and it is about a 20-minute walk from home. This Easter Monday afternoon was a warm and sunny one, ideal for a nice jaunt. (The previous two days had been hotter and stiller, so the dog did not have walks until later in the evening.) The restrictions on movement owing to the coronavirus crisis explain why the park is so quiet on such a glorious bank holiday afternoon.
