Although the main distribution network of railways in the docks was owned by the docks board, all operation was in the hands of the main line railway companies involved, latterly British Railways and British Rail. Here 'Jinty' 0-6-0T 47674 simmers quietly at the head of a rake of covered vans alongside Beaufort Street.
