An area of open land gifted to the residents of Altrincham by the Earl of Stamford before the Second World War - another example would be Stamford Park, near the town centre. For a period of over fifty years, it was the home of the annual Altrincham Show. Nowadays, it is a haven for joggers and dog walkers, and a site of ecological importance.
