This photograph was taken from the site of the former Brierdene Railway Station, part of the Collywell Bay Branch of the Blyth & Tyne Railway, and looks along what was the course of the old line in the direction of Brierdene Junction. The line, which was never operational although almost fully constructed, was finally abandoned in 1931.
