These outbuildings of the main house were converted, in 1946, for school use when it became St Ambrose College - a Catholic grammar school. They became the refectory, cloak rooms and toilets for the boys. To the right, where there is the remains of a beech hedge, was an enclosed, circular rose garden which the Brothers, who ran the school, used for quiet contemplation, in good weather.
