This is the house that Thomas Mawson built for himself. He was a landscape gardener who was part of the Arts and Crafts movement in architecture. The doorcase does not seem to me right for that style, perhaps it replaced a gabled porch. Other Arts and Crafts detailing might be concealed by the pebble-dashing.
