During the coronavirus pandemic crisis customers are no longer permitted to enter the shop. Instead they are served, market-stall-style, from a counter set across the wide doorway. Like other independent shops, Hilary's is doing a roaring trade, currently offering more consistent supplies of fruit and vegetables than some supermarkets. (One first-time customer was apparently surprised to find potatoes in a greengrocers....)
