Some of the village's attractive Victorian houses with the old school at the end, all from the 1860s as attested by date plaques on the wall. A non BT cream telephone box from the Hull telephone company completes the picture. According to Wikipedia, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swine,_East_Riding_of_Yorkshire Swine has had that name unchanged since the Domesday Book. There is a suggestion that it's from Old English "swin" = creek. Except there isn't one. But then, I didn't see any pigs either.
