Looking towards Star House on Star Hill. Star House was formerly the Star Inn, situated half way up the hill on what was before the building in the 1830s of the easier route via Polhill (the current A224, ex A21) the main London - Hastings road. Star Inn was used as a place to change horses, and had extensive stabling. See Image for a close up of the building and Image for the former stable block.
