This was built as his holiday home by Thomas Mawson, a landscape gardener who was interested in the 'Arts and Crafts' movement in architecture. He has incorporated 'Westmorland' round chimneys. This identified the holiday home as being the bungalow, although it is the two storey house beyond that is now called 'The Mallards'.
