Before yellow-grey mass-produced gault brick became the commonest building material in the Cambridgeshire Fens, local bricks were red and irregularly shaped. This Grade II listed house - now two - is dated 1715. No 45, to the left, has been restored and re-roofed, but No 47 is unoccupied and has inappropriate 20th-century windows and front door.
