An unusual headstone in the graveyard of St Matthew's Church, Stretton. The burial place of one Charles Spicer of the 17th Light Dragoons, died 1845, aged 38yrs. Light Dragoons were light cavalry mounted on fast horses able to move quickly across the battlefield, often used in reconnaissance roles. SJ620828.
