Kirby Cross railway station was opened in 1866 on the Great Eastern Railway's line from Colchester to Walton-on-the-Naze. This is a view looking west from the public footpath crossing immediately to the east of the station. Care was taken, prior to taking the photograph, to ensure that no trains were approaching in either direction.
