Well, it is now, but up to WWII the LNER branch line from Finchley Central continued to Edgware. Plans to make the line double track, and to electrify it for tube trains, were interrupted by the war and subsequently cancelled. The line continued to be used for goods traffic until it was closed in the 1960s; the tracks were then lifted - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mill_Hill_East_tube_station and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edgware_tube_station .
