The bellcote, which was originally on Mill No 1, was relocated to here (New Buildings) between 1825 and 1867, and was used to summon the workers to New Lanark's mills. The whole of New Buildings is Category A listed http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB37045. There are lots of twigs and other material present, suggesting something has been nesting here in the more recent past.
