A few years ago Dove Holes was branded the ugliest village in Britain in a national poll. In my judgement, that was a very unfair result. As you can see from this picture, Dove Holes enjoys a marvellous peakland setting. It also boasts a magnificent neolithic henge known as The Bull Ring. Dove Holes is a working village with a huge limestone quarry on its doorstep. It enjoys a great rail connection with Manchester and is on the edge of the beautiful Peak District.
