The Waverley Castle Hotel, Darnick

The hotel (originally the Waverley Hydropathic) was built in 1869-71, architect James Walker, and is category B listed (LB37810) "for its technological significance as probably the earliest mass concrete building in Scotland". It stands in grounds that form part of the site of the Battle of Darnick in July 1526. http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/BTL30
