The rain has just stopped in time for the promised noon photograph. Two sons and Lucy visiting this year to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. The 1851 Inclosure Act defined the lane as a "Private Road or Carriageway" 12 feet wide. It has never been adopted by the council despite carrying water, gas, electric and sewerage services beneath, and being lit by gas (until recent conversion to sodium lamps). Pot holes are filled with rubble by the more able-bodied householders as and when needed.
