This smock mill was built in 1803 for James Noakes and a steam engine was added eight years later. In 1857 it was sold and came into the possession of the Abraham family until it ceased commercial operation in 1934; it became known as Abraham's Mill. In 2004 the Upminster Windmill Preservation Trust acquired a 35-year lease on the building and it is currently under restoration. It is grade II* listed.
