A similar view to Image], but this time looking from the platform, towards the back of the hall. The Victoria Hall was opened in 1900 with more than 1,250 seats. It was designed in the style of a music hall so everyone would feel welcome, including those who were not regular church-goers. Although the seating and platform area have been modernised, the auditorium features much of the original Victorian décor. There is a gallery around three sides, carried on plaster-encased columns with enriched Ionic capitals and a high relief frieze. The curved ceiling is divided into deep plaster panels.
