Viewed from the bridge carrying the access track across the railway in Canons Park, the Du Cros Drive / Dalkeith Grove road bridge is visible in the distance, and Stanmore station is beyond that. The line opened in 1932 as a branch of the Metropolitan Line from Wembley Park. In 1939 operation of the railway was taken over by the Bakerloo Line, and, after a short-lived period when it was known as the Fleet Line, the new Jubilee Line took over operations in 1979.
