Surprisingly, this imposing public building on Northumberland Street is not listed, although the four phone boxes outside it are (grade II, list entry 1226188). The post office was designed by architect Charles Wilkinson and officially opened on 31 October 1914, with the Mayor of Huddersfield, Alderman J Blamires, posting the first letter. It closed in 2018 and appears not to have a new use yet. (source: Huddersfield Examiner, 18 June 2018).
